Written Affirmation Technique – Guide to Success

November 23, 2009 Leave a comment

As stated in our last newsletter, your super conscious mind functions on a non-conscious level 24 hours each day, 365 days each year. Whenever you program a goal into your subconscious mind and then release it, it is transferred to your super conscious mind, which goes to work to manifest the goal.

This work of the super conscious mind can be accelerated by a process known as the “written affirmation technique.”

The following is a brief description of how to use it:

1. Write out a clear, present-tense description of your goal, exactly as you would like to see it in reality. (Be as precise as possible)

2. Be sure that you write the goal in accordance with the “3 P’s:”

(a) Positive: The subconscious mind cannot grasp the negative. For example, if your goal is to become debt free, rather than affirming, “I am debt free,” your affirmation might read, “I am financially free and have money in abundance.”

(b) Present Tense: Your affirmation must also be written in the present tense. In the example above, rather than affirming, “I will be free of debt,” you affirm, “I am financially free and have money in abundance.”

(c) Personal: You cannot control the behavior of others. Nor can you set their goals. The only person for whom you can establish goals is yourself, therefore an affirmation always starts with the word “I.”

3. Repeat this “written affirmation technique” for each of your goals.

4. To maximise the affect of your affirmations, read them several times each day. To facilitate this process, many people choose to write their affirmations on a series of index cards, which they keep in their pocket or briefcase, making it easy to pull them out and read them during any lull in the day.

5. When you read your affirmations, picture in your mind’s eye the goal already having been achieved. Imagine the feeling that will come with your success. Imbue the picture with passion!

6. When you have completed this “written affirmation technique” for each goal, simply release the goal completely and carry on with your day.

This process is a powerful way to imprint your goals on your subconscious mind. Then your super conscious mind takes over, drawing on all of your knowledge and experience as well as all of the intelligence, ideas and knowledge that have ever existed or that will ever exist. It will automatically and continuously solve every problem and offer solutions to every challenge on the way to your goals. It will attract the people and the resources required to achieve your goals.

In the weeks ahead, take time to practice this “written affirmation technique.” Then observe what happens in your external world. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

THINK AND GROW RICH! The secrets of Successful Businessman

November 19, 2009 Leave a comment

One of the foundations of our coaching and mentoring program, and a key contributor to its efficacy, can be found in the power of the ‘Master Mind’ Concept.

In his classic bestseller, THINK AND GROW RICH, Napoleon Hill, defines ‘Master Mind’ as “the coordination of knowledge and effort in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.” He goes on to state: “No individual may have great power without availing himself of the ‘Master Mind.’”

The following is a brief summary of Napoleon Hill’s explanation of the ‘Master Mind.’ The ‘Master Mind’ has two characteristics – one economic in nature, the other psychic.

1. Economic

Economic advantages flow to anyone who surrounds himself with a group of individuals who are willing to lend him wholehearted assistance in achieving his goals, and who, after analyzing and understanding the counsel received, diligently applies it. “This form of cooperative alliance,” states Hill, “has been the basis of nearly every great fortune.”

2. Psychic

The human mind is a form of energy, and Hill claims that part of this energy is spiritual in nature. He explains that when the minds of two or more people are coordinated in a spirit of harmony, the spiritual units of energy of each mind form an affinity, which constitutes the psychic phase of the ‘Master Mind.’ Just as a group of batteries linked together provide more energy than a single battery, a group of two or more brains connected in a spirit of harmony provide more thought-energy than a single brain. Moreover, the increased thought-energy created when a group of individual brains are coordinated and function in harmony becomes available to every individual brain in the group.

A further element of the psychic nature of the ‘Master Mind’ lies in Hill’s assertion that, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible, intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.” When two or more people come together in a spirit of harmony and work toward a definite objective, their alliance places them in a position to absorb power directly from what he calls “the great universal storehouse of Infinite Intelligence.” In other words, not only does the ‘Master Mind’ group draw upon the thought-energy of the entire group, it also taps into an extraordinary source of energy and intelligence and wisdom far greater than our mortal minds.

It is well known that, in the first half of the 20th Century, Henry Ford overcame the handicap of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance to become one of the richest men in America. Less well known is the fact that his most rapid progress began after he developed relationships with, first, Thomas A. Edison and then, later, Harvey Firestone, John Burroughs and Luther Burbank. All were men of great individual brain capacity. Unconsciously, Ford tapped into the economic and psychic power of the ‘Master Mind’ principle.

Previously you had the opportunity to taste the benefit of sharing ideas with a small group of like-minded, supportive individuals. It is now time to integrate this ‘Master Mind’ principle into your life.

We can and will support you but the ultimate responsibility for applying the material in your business and your everyday life rest squarely on your shoulders. To this end, you will find it enormously helpful to form your own ‘Master Mind’ group, consisting of four to six fellow-participants. Meet regularly – perhaps biweekly or even weekly – to discuss and share information and ideas. View the members of your group as trusted and valued advisors. And be a trusted and valued advisor to each of them in return.

A typical ‘Master Mind’ meeting might devote one hour to discussing the ideas and principles examining each member’s experience in applying them. In the second hour, you might focus on one member’s plan for achieving a specific goal, supporting her or him first, to clearly define the goal, second, to identify the critical constraints blocking progress to the goal (remember, 80% of the blocks are normally internal to the person) and then, third to develop strategies and tactics – a plan – to overcome these critical constraints. Were you to follow this kind of simple format, over a twelve-week period each member will have had two opportunities to benefit from the experience and collective genius of a supportive team – and the universal storehouse of Infinite Intelligence – in the achievement of her or his most important goal(s). I assure you, everyone who commits to becoming a full-on participant in a ‘Master Mind’ Group will realise unimagined benefits. When forming your own group, ensure that each member understands and agrees to honour the following five commitments:

1. Maintain a positive mental attitude.

2. Share ideas and opinions openly. Be honest!

3. Ask lots of questions. Encourage discovery.

4. Give everyone a chance to speak. Each member of the group is important.

5. Be diligent in your efforts to encourage and support your fellow-members.

I wish you every success in this important step on your journey to The Winning Way in business.

How do you Start your day!

November 16, 2009 Leave a comment

by: Joanna Scaparotti

Recently, I was asked what I think the single most important thing someone can do to maintain sanity, keep stress at a minimum and increase productivity when launching a business. While those starting a business have a unique set of stressors, we all have complicated lives in our own way, so my answer applies to everyone.

In my opinion, the single most important thing a person can do is to take some quiet “me” time every morning. This means not starting the day with checking your email, watching the news or yelling at your kids to hurry up. It means setting aside a few minutes just for you to relax before you start your morning routine or finding a way to incorporate it into your current routine such as listening to soothing music on your commute to work. Whether you play with your pet, just sit with your favorite beverage savoring the flavors, meditate, do yoga, go for a walk, look out over your garden, play music you enjoy, or reflect in a journal, making the time every morning to just be is a very simple way to maintain sanity and keep stress at bay.

First of all, these special moments just for yourself allow you to be fully present in your day so you can truly own and appreciate it. By making “me” time first thing, you claim your day, rather than it being claimed by the rat race or your obligations to everyone else day after day. In addition, this quiet time sets the tone for your day. If you start out peaceful and focused, chances are the rest of your day will follow suit. Whereas, if you start the day in a rush, frantic and running late, chances are the rest of the day is going to be fairly stressful too.

There is another benefit of spending time being every morning before you start doing all the things that need to be done in your day. The quiet time gives you the opportunity to let creative ideas gestate, solutions to be discovered, and inspiration to happen because your mind is open and receptive instead of preoccupied like when you are busy the rest of the day.

Second Newsletter: The ‘X’ Factor

November 13, 2009 1 comment

There is a story of a consultant brought into a billion dollar atomic power plant to solve a technical problem that was reducing the efficiency of the entire operation. The plant’s engineers had been unsuccessful in identifying the source of the problem, let alone finding a solution. After two days of diligently studying the hundreds of dials and gauges in the control room, the consultant climbed a ladder and marked a large black ‘X’ on one of the gauges. Sure enough, when this apparatus had been replaced, the plant returned to full capacity. A few days later, the plant supervisor received an invoice from the consultant for $10,000. When he questioned the size of the bill, pointing out that it seemed excessive based on the work performed – in his words, “standing around for a couple of days and then marking a black ‘X’ on a gauge” – the consultant broke his invoice down this way:

For placing ‘X’ on gauge: $ 1.00

For knowing which gauge: $ 9.999.00

Total: $10,000.00

This principle applies in everyday life as well. The ‘X’ in your life represents where to focus your attention, your time and your energy. This ‘X’ is your Focal Point – the one thing you can do, at any given moment, to get the very best result in a specific area of your life. With regards to your Health and Fitness, for example, your Focal Point ‘X’ might be your weight, or your pulse rate, or your blood pressure, or the size of your waist and so on. In your Family and Relationships, it might be the amount of quality face-to-face time you spend each week with the most important people in your life. When examining your Money and Investments, a valuable Focal Point ‘X’ is your burn rate – i.e. how much money you require each month to meet all of your expenses. This brings us to the area that most frequently turns out to be of primary interest to participants in The Winning Way in business Coaching & Mentoring Program. An extraordinarily valuable Focal Point ‘X’ in this area of your life is your “hourly rate.” We find that, even among the very highest earners – those earning in excess of $1 million per year – this concept, once embraced and applied, proves to be crucial in their quest to move up to the next level.

Simply stated, your hourly rate is your annual income divided by 2,000. If you are currently earning $100,000 per year, for example, your hourly rate is $50 per hour. Why is this simple concept so important? It is the key to ensuring the proper allocation of your time and energy. A simple way to assess the efficacy of your performing any task is to ask this fundamental question: “Would I pay someone $50 per hour (or whatever your hourly rate is) to do this task?” If the answer is no, then it is not the highest and best use of your time. You should either eliminate the task or delegate it to a qualified person earning the appropriate hourly rate.

By the same token, if your goal were to earn, say, $200,000 per year, you should not spend time or energy on tasks that are worth less than $100 per hour. So, what is your current hourly rate? What is your 12-month goal? Do you spend any time in your daily work on tasks for which you would not pay someone your desired hourly rate? If not, congratulations! You are well on your way to achieving your goal. If so, which tasks will you eliminate? Which tasks will you delegate? To whom? Such choices will prove to be key determinants of the probability of your reaching your goal.
